so how did you celebrate first day of spring? sniffed first flowers, pulled out t-shirts, welcomed warmth? i didn't do any of it. there is still lots of snow and the only green you can see is a celery stick in superstore. days got warmer and enjoyable even though it looks like some of us are praying for summer.

tak ako ste oslavili prvy jarny den? privonali ste si prvym kvietkom, vytiahli tricka s kratkymi rukavmi, privitali teple slnecne luce? ja som neurobila ani jednu z tych veci. vonku su stale haldy snehu a jedinu zelen ktoru mozte vidiet je na pulte v tescu. dni su ale teplejsie a prijemnejsie i ked sa zda ze niektori z nas sa modlia aby to leto tu uz bolo cim skor.

my friend dawna doesn't seem to care about winter anymore. after she totalled her jeep she got this beast! at first i thought she totally lost her marbles and spoils herself a bit too much but then i googled it and found out that this particular H3 model is a 5-cylinder, 3.7 liter. that is smaller than many regular suvs on roads! maybe you think that it will not solve our global warming problem but you know what? it makes it for great shots!! :-)

zda sa ze moja kamaratka dawna uz zimu ignoruje. po tom co svojho jeepa odpisala do srotu po totalke si kupila tuto bestiu! ked som to pocula, myslela som si ze potratila vsetok rozum a ze sa rozmaznava troska viac nez je nutne. ale potom som sa pozrela na technicke cisla tohto typu H3 a zistila som ze je to 5 cylinder, 3.7 litrovy motor. clovece, ved to je mensie ako mnoho suv-iciek co sa premavaju po cestach! mozno si myslite ze to nepomoze nasmu problemu globalneho oteplovania ale vieste co? su z toho super fotky!! :-)

 i think this ski poster from 1977 is fantastic!! now, what is really interesting is where I saw it. one yukon summer day, my friend paul and i decided to go camping to one (i will not name it) lake in the middle of nowhere. we packed a canoe, fishing gear, couple rifles (it was hunting season) and a few muskox steaks in case we would not shoot anything. it was great weekend. we paddled around tha lake and stopped by some lonely cabins standing on beautiful sandy beaches. i knew if there are cabins there would be outhouses.i have this thing for outhouses (i take photos of them that is). i was right. one of them was the cadillac of all outhouses i had ever seen in my life. it cought my attention from the distance as there was a pair of really old fat water skis leaning against the outhouse. i knew this was gonna be good. this poster was inside this outhouse. it made me laugh right away. aaah, nothing better than nice outhouse in the woods. when i came back to the beach, paul was all grinning and pointing to the small pool of water in the willows. there were few bottles of chilled beer and coolers. they seemed old and forgotten and we wondered how old they were. temptation was strong so we decided to go for it. there was nice outhouse close by afterall.

tento plagat z 1977ho je fantasticky!! a co je este lepsie je kde som ho objavila. jeden yukonsky letny den sme sa s kamaratom paulom vybrali na kempovacku k jednemu jazierku uprostred divociny. zbalili sme kanoe, udice, dve pusky (ved bola polovnicka sezona) a zopar steakov z muskoxa pre pripad ze by sme nic nechytili. bol to skvely wikend. ako sme padlovali okolo jazera zastavili sme sa pri opustenych zruboch sediacich na krasnej pieskovej plazi. vedela som ze ak tu su chajdy, budu tu aj kadibudky, ja mam pre ne slabost (rada ich fotim aby nedoslo k omylu :-). mala som pravdu, jedna z nich bola kadilakom vsetkych kadibudiek ake som kedy v mojom zivote videla. uputala moju pozornost uz z dialky pretoze boli o nu oprete stare vodne lyze. vedela som ze toto bude dobre. a tento plagat bol vo vnutri na dverach. hned ma to rozosmialo. aaach, nic lepsie ako poriadna kadibudka v lesiku. ked som sa vratila na plaz, paul sa podozrivo skeril a ukazovakom mieril do krikov. v mlake vody lezalo par chladenych piv a miesanych napojov. vyzerali staro, akoby ich tam niekto zabudol. chvilku sme spekulovali ake su stare. pokusenie ale bolo silne a tak sme si dali par piv. ostatne, skvela kadibudla bola hned po ruke.

before i left for mexico i got myself nice knee injury during my hockey game. so i nicely twitched ACL, MCL and i got myself meniscus. great. i thought walowing on beaches would do me good (which it did) but it is time for physio. and i am told that i am done with hockey and skiing for this season!! NOOOOOOOOOO! that is the worst thing that could possibly happen!! so out of my depression i figured out that as soon as i get better i need to start doing this sport  www.redbullcrashedice.ca  isn't that great? combination of skiing and hockey? i think i found my ultimate sport!! i wonder what i will break trying that one out!! bahaha

pred tym nez som odisla do mexika som si rozbila koleno pocas hokejoveho zapasu. natrhla som si bocny a krizny kolenny vaz a vraj sa tam nasiel aj jemny meniskus. 'fantasticke'. myslela som si ze to nebude take zle a valanie sa na plazach mi pomoze. co mi teda pomohlo ale po navrate som zacala rehabilitaciu. bolo mi povedane ze som na tuto sezonu skoncila aj s hokejom aj s lyzami. NIEEEEEEEEE!!! nic horsie sa mi nemohlo stat. a tak tu posedavam v depke a prisla som na to ze hned ako mi bude lepsie musim vyskusat tento sport http://www.redbullcrashedice.ca/video

ok, so those who stuck around and are on this page are apparently interested in knowing what's up with me. i really don't know how to go about blogging or keeping you up to date ...any suggestions?  i think i will just write what comes to my mind, both in english and in slovak, and will see how it all goes. if it doesn't work out, it is so easy to press delete button. so easy to live in this virtual world.

as i mentioned, i have been living in canada for past eight years. there are stories, lots of them. there are always stories. some of them could be put here, some of them could not   :-) ehm ehm

first two years were tough. i had to 'do my time' to gain the privilege of becoming a canadian. i graduated from yukon college and gained diploma in renewable resources management. the best thing that ever happened to me. it opened up door of possibilities and i found a bunch of good friends.

ever since i came to canada i started skiing more than i did back in europe. got my backcountry set and started learning about avalanches, snow etc. i also did a bit of climbing, ski patrolling, search and rescue, helicopter training and all kinds of other stuff. but backcountry skiing stays my passion and for last two seasons i have one more and that is ice hockey. I play in our local women league but unfortunately, due to injury, i am out for this season. seems like hockey is a tough game :-)

ok, takze ti co sa dopracovali az sem maju ozaj zaujem sa dozvediet co to ja nacvicujem. ozaj neviem ako to urobit, blogging mi je uplne neznamy ale rada by som byt s kazdym v kontakte. mate nejaky napad? myslim, ze zacnem len pisat ako ma co napadne a uvidime ako to pojde. ak to nebude ono, stlacim magicky gombik 'vymazat' a je to. zivot v tomto virtualnom svete je tak jednoduchy! :-)

ako som uz spomenula, zijem v kanade osem rokov. mam kopu pribehov co by som mohla navypravat. ale mnohe z nich sem zial uviest nemozem :-)) ehm ehm ...hihihihihi ...prve dva roky v kanade boli ako povinna vojna pre chalanov za sociku. ale vsetko preslo a dnes mam vo vrecku kanadsky pas       ;-)  podarilo sa mi ukoncit skolu a ziskat diplom v manazmente obnovitelnych zdrojov. skola mi otvorila dvere mnohych moznosti a ziskala som niekolko dobrych priatelov.   

odkedy som prisla do kanady zacala som sa viac venovat lyzovaniu. zacala som sa ucit o lavinach, snehu atd. tiez som sa chvilku venovala lezeniu, pracovala som ako lyziarsky zachranar, search and rescue, mam za sebou helikopterovy vycvik, a kopu dalsich hluposti :-) ale to lyzovanie zostava mojou najvacsou zalubou a posledne dve sezony mam o jednu viac a tou je ladovy hokej. hrajem v nasej miestnej zenskej lige ale podarilo sa mi zranit takze som s touto sezonou skoncila. toz, hokej je tvrda hra.
